Is Back Bay T Station Easy to Get to

Easy to get to. Great employees! Trains are almost always on time and the people who ride are very respectful. It's a great alternative to flying around the Northeast. Plus, you can't beat the views!

  • Luofei D.

Beware of the junkie with a sob story about needing money to catch a train to rehab. He loafs between here and South Station with the same racket.

The burritos at the ChaChaCha burrito cart are awesome. The sometimes-long line at noon is testament to that. The marinated pork is especially savory.

Yikes, no AC in the summer! Also, unlike South Station, Amtrak isn't actually staffed... So you have to rely on reticent-to-help mbta employees if you have questions...

  • Melissa T.

Orange Line is good to get from Back Bay to N. Station during the day. At night it gets sketchy. Take a cab.

  • sheri k.

Either ask the conducter if you're on the right train OR join a free game of MBTA roulette! The station is disorganized, switches tracks at the last minute & only announces about half the trains!

  • Jessica C.

Use the Clarendon St exit at the end of the platform if you're headed toward the East side of the street anyway. It's easier than using the main exit and having to cross the street during rush hour.

Easy access to Copley and, obviously, the Back Bay if you're coming from NYC.

This place takes the cake for being the ugliest MBTA commuter station in Boston. Also, about the bathrooms here... I'd avoid those.

  • Jeff K.

The Worcester Commuter train always arrives on tracks 5 or 7, and there's secret entrance/exit on Dartmouth across the street from the main station building!

  • Megan B.

    The burrito cart is awesome.

  • Todd

At cart between subway and commuter rail, get a bacon, egg, cheese on a roll. Epic win! Cat makes a killer sandwich.

  • Jeremy K. heart icon on user image

Do not, under any circumstance even attempt to use the bathrooms here. You'll regret it. Seriously don't. Cross the street if you have to and go elsewhere.

If you haven't seem the dude who looks like Alice Cooper carrying around a lady twin mannequin torso, then you haven't truly experienced Back Bay station.

Using the restroom is a great way to lose weight. It is the most humid place in existence.

  • Aleece F.

Don't take the back stairs, the longer walk is worth it to your nose!!!

  • Alex

Feel like you're in jail, use the stainless steel toilets and urinals!!

  • Ben J.

The raw juice place is great and open early....

  • Jenna W.

The underground concourse will take you directly into Copley and through the Pru. Perfect for bad weather days.

  • Tim F.

I could be wrong, but if the constant heat and smoke are any indication, this place is built on a volcano.

  • Liam M.

Don't arrive too early for your departing train or you'll end up breathing in diesel fumes while you wait.

  • Billy L. heart icon on user image

AMTRAK N.E.C. / LAKESHORE LIMITED TO / FROM CHICAGO. COMMUTER RAIL AND ORANGE LINE SUBWAY TO NORTH STATION FOR AMTRAK TO MAINE.

  • Taro M.

Check the train schedule in advance or you may end up waiting 1 hour or more. Not fun.

  • Eric O.

There is a tunnel that leads to the shops at Copley and the Prudential Center Mall.

  • Paul B.

Use the bathroom across the street in the mall. Believe me, you'll be happy you did.

  • Jake S.

Pick up a commuter rail train or feed the birds that inexplicably inhabit this station.

  • Brendan C.

Ugh those diesel fumes though....still pretty safe thought for a train station, especially at night

  • Billy L. heart icon on user image

MBTA COMMUTER RAIL ,AMTRAK N.E. CORRIDOR AND AMTRAK P-448 & P-449 TO/FROM CHICAGO.

  • Sandra G.

love is all we need a day begin story

  • Julie R.

Two dunkin donuts in the station!! Love it

  • Tracy Q.

Judging by the litter, Natural Light seems to be the beer of choice for the homeless.

  • Barbara G.

If you take the Orange Line (subway) from here, it is OK. If you take commuter rail, it is crappy. Heaps of litter along the tracks downstairs and the platform smells like urine. Just yucky.

  • Emily X. heart icon on user image

Back Bay bathrooms are so wretched it makes you wonder what third world bathrooms are like... Hmmm renovation needed ASAP!

  • Peter

Avoid the bathrooms at all costs. There are no working soap dispensers and who knows what sort of foul behavior has taken place in the stalls.

  • john m.

I've been in coal mines with better air quality.

  • Sarah C.

Free ride from back bay to south station

  • Eric H.

Free wifi, big chairs and cool, cool aircon. Ahhh ...

  • Katie F.

They are doing a little construction outside the back exit (Clarendon Street).

  • iamreff

theres a back door entrance via Berkley. a bit sketchy but may save a couple minutes if you're heading east.

  • Kacey S. heart icon on user image

Dear Amtrak, I think you're wonderful but I'll never understand why almost all of your bathrooms- on train and off- are so filthy.

  • Jenna W.

On days of crappy weather take the underground concourse into Copley and the Pru.

  • Jacob B.

The burritos at the cart near the Dartmouth st exit are better than you'd expect

  • Jack M.

Great place for a flashmob where everyone gets depressed

  • Ryan K.

Bring an extra jacket if you are waiting long in winter - the station is cold!

  • Tyler G.

They delay trains and don't post it. Their clerks are as intelligent as a box of hair.

  • Vik C.

Dogfish 90min is the only upside of the Accela.

  • Jack M.

Coming here has the same general feeling as watching a puppy die.

  • Brian K.

Busy, Busy! Watch out for the homeless pan-handlers claiming they're "stranded" and need money for the MegaBus

  • Chocolee W.

Use the private stall when using mens room, and wear gloves.

  • Alexandra M.

    Use the tunnel to copley!
